The City of Lubbock’s Cultural Arts Grant Program, as administered by Civic Lubbock, Inc., provides local cultural organizations with financial support for projects that promote tourism and the arts and humanities in Lubbock. Funding for the Cultural Arts Grant Program comes from Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) that is collected from local hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast inns. The revenues from Hotel Occupancy Tax can only be used for certain expenditures as outlined by the State of Texas Tax Code 351.101
In order to be eligible for consideration, projects must meet each of the following criteria:
The next deadline to submit an application for the Cultural Arts Grant Program is Friday, May 30, 2008. This grant cycle is for projects that begin after September 1, 2008.
PLEASE NOTE:
The deadline for this cycle has moved from June 1st to May 30th since June 1st falls on a Sunday. This will allow us sufficient time to process the applications early in June before the holidays begin. Please download the application from the website rather than using past application forms, as it indicates the correct deadline.
A Grant Workshop will be conducted on Thurday, May 1, 2008 from 4:00PM - 6:00PM in Room 104/105 of the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center (1501 Mac Davis Lane). First time applicants or those organizations that did not participate in the November 30, 2007 Grant Workshop and who plan to submit an application for this round of grants will be required to attend the May 2008 Workshop.
At any time during the grant application process, staff will be available to answer any questions you might have. You may contact Vicki Key at VKey@mylubbock.us or call (806) 775-2267 to set up an appointment. To Download Forms and Documents:
