The City of Lubbock’s Cultural Arts Grant Program, as administered by Civic Lubbock, Inc., provides local cultural organizations with financial support for projects that promote tourism and the arts and humanities in Lubbock. Funding for the Cultural Arts Grant Program comes from Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) that is collected from local hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast inns. The revenues from Hotel Occupancy Tax can only be used for certain expenditures as outlined by the State of Texas Tax Code 351.101
In order to be eligible for consideration, projects must meet each of the following criteria:
Applications are accepted twice each year (June 1 and December 1). The next deadline to submit an application for the Cultural Arts Grant Program is Tuesday, June 1, 2010. The June 1st grant cycle is for projects that begin after September 1, 2010.
A Grant Workshop will be conducted on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 4:00PM - 5:30PM in Room 104/105 of the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center (1501 Mac Davis Lane). There is no fee for the grant workshop and you do not have to make reservations. First time applicants or those organizations that did not participate in the November 2, 2009 Grant Workshop and who plan to submit an application for this round of grants will be required to attend the May 4th Workshop.
