The purpose of this funding program is to provide seed money to assist programs
and events in building strong participation in order that they can become
self-sufficient on an annual basis.
To qualify for consideration of funding all organizations must meet the
following criteria:
Organization must posses an IRS non-profit tax-exemption letter.
Proposed event must have a large or broad cultural and/or educational
impact upon the community by appealing to or potentially involving
all sectors of
the community.
Proposed event will be taking place in either the Memorial Civic
Center or Municipal Auditorium-Coliseum.
Availability of funding will be as follows:
The amount of funds awarded to any event will be based upon financial
need and the long-term potential of the event. This will be determined
on a case
by case
basis.
Funds allocated for an event will be used to assist in defraying
the cost of stagehands fees and/or building rent.
Funding of annual events will be limited to three (3) consecutive
years with no more than three (3) times within a five (5) year
period.
Application of funding
Each organization requesting funding will be required to submit
an application for co-sponsorship.
Organizations requesting funding will submit an application in
order to be considered.
Other requirements:
Each organization approved for funding will be required to furnish
an insurance policy in the current amount as specified in Section
9 of the Civic Centers
Facility Contract and Operational Regulations. Civic Lubbock,
Inc. shall be named as an
additional insured on sponsoring organization's insurance
policy for the event.
Each organization will be required to enter into a co-sponsorship
agreement with Civic Lubbock Inc. This agreement will outline
the terms of the co-sponsorship
and each party's responsibilities.
Each organization shall include the following in all advertising
and/or promotions for the event:
"This event made possible in part by Civic Lubbock Inc." and the Civic Lubbock Inc Logo.
Each organization will be required to submit a report within
60 days following the event, which summarizes revenues and expenditures.
Failure to submit
report will disqualify organization from future consideration
Each event will be responsible for the payment of all other costs
associated with the presentation of the event. This includes
costs incurred at the facility
i.e.
stagehands and security. The number of stagehand and security
personnel required will be determined by the facility.
Each event will make available a full page ad for Civic Lubbock,
Inc. in any program booklet at no charge. Copy to be furnished
by Civic Lubbock.
Each event will make available to Civic Lubbock Inc an option
to purchase up to 14 tickets in either prime seating locations
or any VIP seating section
associated
with the event.
